Advanced PM VSD technology for efficient compressed air

The EKO 8–22 X VST series is designed to make Variable Speed technology accessible and profitable. Its oil-cooled Permanent Magnet motor, rated IE4 efficiency, works with a direct drive system and an in-house designed airend to minimize losses and maximize free air delivery. By continuously adjusting speed to match demand, the compressor avoids unloaded running, lowers wear and keeps energy use under control across fluctuating production cycles. 

Built for demanding environments, the range operates reliably in ambient temperatures up to 46 °C and features IP54 electrical protection. Low noise levels allow installation near workstations, while the compact layout supports base-mounted or tank-mounted versions with integrated dryer and filtration. This flexibility makes the EKO 8–22 X VST suitable from small workshops to larger facilities with moderate air demand.

The EKO 8–22 X VST series covers power outputs from 7.5 to 22 kW with a pressure range between 4 and 10 bar. Free air delivery varies by model and pressure, with optimized performance measured according to ISO 1217, Annex C. Noise levels are kept low and measured in accordance with ISO 2151 standards.

Multiple configurations are available, including base-mounted units and tank-mounted versions with 270 or 500 litre receivers and integrated refrigerant dryers. Dimensions and weights vary by configuration, allowing correct sizing for space and air demand requirements.

Maintenance is simplified through a front-access design that allows all service points to be reached easily. The oil-cooled PM motor is maintenance free, while long service intervals reduce downtime and operating effort. Visual oil level inspection and intuitive controller diagnostics support quick checks.

The ES 4000 Connect controller provides maintenance warnings, service history and proactive alerts, helping prevent unplanned shutdowns. Regular maintenance using original parts ensures efficiency, reliability and long compressor lifetime.

Energy represents the majority of compressor lifecycle cost, and the EKO 8–22 X VST is designed to significantly reduce it. Variable speed operation combined with PM motor efficiency can deliver energy savings of up to 45%, enabling fast payback compared to fixed speed alternatives.
